Shadow

Ok, this one may be considered one of the deep-cuts and possibly shouldn't count, since it is a cover song! In 2018 ASTRO performed Shadow (originally sung in 2001 by a K-Pop group called... 'K-POP' if you can believe it!) on a Korean TV show called Sugarman where different artists are brought in to go head-to-head in a music performance. The artists are given an old pop song to create a new performance for. This song felt so ASTRO-core when I heard it the first time I didn't know it wasn't originally theirs! They also won that episode. So here is me, trying to cover ASTRO covering K-POP. :^)

Welcome to Day 10 of my side quest to learn (nearly every) ASTRO choreography!

This is something that I have talked about doing for a long time, but it can be really challenging to get going. I'm sure many others can relate, but I put a lot of pressure on myself to do well and the idea of trying to dance just like someone I idolize so much seemed like a recipe for disaster. I had actually attempted to learn quite a few of these in my room over the years, but would get discouraged and never finish or document them anywhere.

I'm grateful to K-Pop-Up which allowed me to try learning/teaching a few songs of theirs post-2020! I even convinced enough friends to complete an entire dance cover of Candy Sugar Pop when it was released!!
I thought there would be an infinite amount of time, that I had found the best group, that they would be together for the long haul, that I would get to enjoy their music for years to come... 2023 hit me like a ton of bricks.
The one that I admired the most...

I cannot for the life of me communicate what I'd like to in this moment, so I will instead cut this short and thank you all for your patience as I bombard you with content this month. I wish that I had done this sooner on even the slightest chance that he would have seen it and known that I was grateful to him, and all of ASTRO. Thank you∼
