This English version of FICTION by BEAST 비스트 HIGHLIGHT 하이라이트 is a professional demo of a new seamless English adaptation technique.

This English version tailored seamlessly to match HIGHLIGHT vocalists' singing style should feel like second skin, and should be super easy to learn for international fans, and fun to perform for the original singers.

Those with sharp eyes may have noticed, I recorded and uploaded this video within 2 days after

- watching Yoseob and DongWoon's Fiction on Begin Again Open Mic
- Highlight's latest album DAYDREAM video featuring a MAZE

The day before Highlight's new album announcement, I happened to wrap up my English adaptation of Fiction lyrics. And..... DAYDREAM and MAZE were two keywords I specifically used for JunHyung and Dujun's post bridge parts.

Well, so I took this extreme synchronity as the sign that I should just record the vocal and upload it.

Some notes:

- My "melodic rap" treatment of both JunHyung rap parts in this English version is specific and intentional.
- rapping speed in the orchestral version is WAY FASTER than the dance version, who could've guessed?
- I love Fiction dance version too, but this version allows Highlight members to show off their far more powerful vocals, and make the world fall in love with them all over again with an English version of this epic legend piece

METAMORPH = a new, intensive seamless song adaptation technique for the ease of learning and performance by the original vocalists. It has many other benefits, both commercial and artistic.

Professional lyricists would appreciate the tightly placed syllabic punctuation.

Bi-lingual lyricists would notice the amount of matched rhymes, vowels and consonants.

A pop group with a strong discography releasing English version of their top hits is a smart bold move during this crazy pandemic time we live in. I started this advanced lyricist passion project after discovering The Blowing's Not The End in November 2021. There's no going back. Though there are many world class songwriters and singers in Kpop, HIGHLIGHT vibes with my taste. Adapting or singing their works feels like second nature to me, and one doesn't need to be a music professional to hear the resonance.

IMO HIGHLIGHT hasn't even peaked yet, has 50-70% more upside to go, and is repressed by domestic big music machines (and of course the pandemic too). That is why I am pitching the still-new metamorph adaptation method to them first and not SM YG JYP Cube.

I hope global fans of HIGHLIGHT can hear what I hear and see what I see, and put more energy into their full English releases. Do spread the love!
