Ah f(x), SM’s neglected middle child girl group, having been overshadowed by SM Entertainment's other girl groups such as SNSD and Red Velvet. Comebacks few and far in between, no solo concerts until 6 years into their careers and no fandom name until around the first solo concert. The last two after one member (Sulli) had left. On hiatus for over 4 years and probably disbanded in all but name as of writing this. But what you might not know is that f(x) also has a complicated relationship with China. One of great benefit but also strong dependence and getting caught in some nasty East Asian geopolitics. In particular, f(x) was disproportionately affected by China's 'hallyu ban' compared to other K-pop groups. Yes this video was inspired by Wendover Productions and PolyMatter with some elements of Johnny Harris in it as well.
If you notice some colours are messed up in the footage I used, it is messed up on purpose to avoid copyright claims. I also had to re-edit and reupload this video several times as pervious attempts to publish this were blocked due to copyright.
Disclaimer: Pretty much anything about China will start a flame war these days considering the rapid growth of China's economic and political power. This video will cover some hot issues (THAAD, South China Sea, Hong Kong, and Xinjiang/the Uyghurs) causing those flame wars but I will try my best to be as neutral as possible. Please note that I cannot cover everything about the issues discussed here.
