A Manhattan Beach jewelry store employee fired a gun at five suspects involved in a mid-day, smash-and-grab robbery. The store, Prestige Jewelers, was previously targeted in 2014. The thieves escaped in cars waiting outside.

The incident occurred just after 12:30 p.m. on a Saturday.

‍♂️ Five suspects, accompanied by a sixth man holding the door, rushed the store.

The robbers used hammers to smash glass cases and collect merchandise in black bins.

An employee discharged a firearm towards the assailants, causing them to flee.

The suspects escaped in several cars waiting outside the store.

This is the second such incident at the store; a similar robbery took place in 2014.
