Kara (Hangul: 카라, Japanese: カラ, often stylized as KARA) was a South Korean pop girl group formed by DSP Media in 2007. The group's final lineup was composed of Park Gyuri, Han Seungyeon, Goo Hara and Heo Youngji. Members Nicole Jung and Kang Ji-young officially departed from the group in 2014, while Kim Sung-hee left in 2008. The group's name comes from the Greek word "chara" (χαρά, lit. "joy"), which they interpreted to mean "sweet melody".

Goo Ha-ra (January 13, 1991 – November 24, 2019), better known mononymously as Hara, was a South Korean singer and actress. She was a member of the South Korean girl group Kara, and had also appeared in television dramas including City Hunter (2011). She made her debut as a soloist in July 2015 with the release of her EP Alohara (Can You Feel It?).

Nicole Yongju Jung (born October 7, 1991), referred to as Nicole, is a Korean-American singer. She is a former member of South Korean girl group Kara.

Kang Ji-young (born January 18, 1994), also known as Jiyoung or JY, is a South Korean actress and singer based in Japan. She is a former member of the South Korean girl group Kara.

Heo Young-ji (born August 30, 1994), referred to as Youngji, is a South Korean singer and television personality. She is best known as a member of girl group Kara after winning the TV show Kara Project in 2014, which saw her become the newest member of the group. Heo began her solo music career in August 2017 with her first single, "Memory Clock".
