I ate 4000 calories because I needed to, my weight at the end of the day wasn’t where I wanted it - so I added in an additional 250 calories to improve my progress on this lean bulk.
Not everyone needs this much food to gain muscle, there are a number of reasons I require a solid amount. Age, testosterone levels, activity, a couple of things.
Once you figure out how much you need to be consistently building muscle, and adding muscular scale weight, these few tips may be beneficial for you:
(1) No time-restricted eating windows, or “fasting”. It just makes things complicated. Especially when you have 3500-4000 calories to plow.
(2) Simple, square meals. I don’t worry about having a light breakfast, instead, I focus on setting my meals up to be equal to my intake required for the day. This way, 3-4 meals will add up to what I need.
(3) 3-4 meals a day is a good route. I like 3-4 meals, and I eat roughly the same macronutrient ratios with each meal.
Lean bulking is fun stuff, and training is also so much fun. The combination is an irresistible pair.
