Super Junior’s Kyuhyun And Yoo Yeon Seok Cast In Musical “Werther”
Super Junior’s Kyuhyun and Yoo Yeon Seok will be acting in the musical “Werther”!The musical celebrates its 20th anniversary this year with a new set of shows beginning in August. Kyuhyun and Yoo Yeon Seok have been cast as the main character Werther along with Uhm Ki Joon, musical actor Kai, and Na Hyun Woo, the winner of tvN’s musical actor survival show”Double Casting.”The character Werther is a man with a pure heart and burning passion. The actors in charge of the role are given the difficult task of portraying his desire for Charlotte and the agony he goes through.Yoo Yeon Seok has shown his acting abilities with the various characters he has played in dramas, films, and musicals throughout his career. He expressed, “I’m very thankful and honored to be able to take part in the 20th anniversary celebratory run of ‘Werther’ as an actor and a member of the audience who has been a fan of the musical. It’s a musical that’s loved by many, so I’ll do my best to do a good job of conveying its deep sensibilities to the audience. Yoo Yeon Seok is currently starring in tvN’s “Hospital Playlist.”Kyuhyun, who now has over 10 years of experience as a musical actor, will be returning to the role of Werther once again five years after he played the role in 2015. Kyuhyun stated, “Out of the musicals I’ve participated in, there was a certain family-like bond for ‘Werther.’ That’s why I feel more affectionate about it. It’s also a musical my fans had been wanting to see again, so I think they’ll be happy. Since this is my second time taking part in the musical, I’ll return with even deeper emotions.”The musical “Werther” was made in Korea based on Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s novel “The Sorrows of Young Werther.” It has captured the hearts of many musical fans with its songs that are played by a chamber orchestra.
