Super Junior's Heechul confided his honest thoughts about his gay rumors.

On the April 13th episode of JTBC's '7.7 Billion in Love,' MCs and guests talked about human rights to sexual minorities outside Korea.

While listening to various stories, Heechul began to talk, "I'm sure everyone knows about this. I've had constant gay rumors ever since my debut. I had had a scandal with a male celebrity."

Heechul added, "I've been receiving misunderstanding since debut because of my long hair and makeup. At first, I'd wanted to deny the rumors but then I thought that it would be offensive to some. Some fans who like me may be gay. I thought my words could hurt them. So, I haven't explained anything about that."

Listening to his words, Hong Seokcheon said, "It's been 20 years since I did a coming out as a gay. If you ask how much Korea has changed over the past 20 years, it's a little better now because people can think once more about sexual minorities.

Of course, there's still a lot of discrimination. I hope that any such preconceptions or prejudices will not exist in the future. If we get rid of the fear of what we don't know, we will be able to relax our minds in accepting each other."
