This is NO hate video. These were two of the (if not THE) biggest 2nd gen kpop girl groups. Wonder Girls (원더걸스) was a gg from JYP debuting in 2007 and Girls Generation (소녀시대) aka Sonyeo Sidae aka SNSD was (is??) a girlgroup from SM Entertainment (also debuted in 2007) with two sub-units TTS and Oh!GG. They both topped the gaon charts and made a SPLASH in the industry—setting the standard for 3rd and 4th gen girl groups with both a cutes girly concept, girlcrush and a retro open-world concept. Both also entered the English market and debuted in America with Wonder Girls charting on the Billboard Hot 100!
Gaon was created in 2010, so for chart info pre-2010 I had to go ALL the way back to the archived charts from that era. Since South Korea didn’t have a major standardized chart before, I used the main chart which was also used by music programs to determine wins.
